It's OK 2 ask 'Why'

I've been working with students since surrendering to full time, vocational ministry in 2005.  I have come to conclusion that a lot of students have a lot of questions; a lot of adults have questions for that matter.
There a couple of ways to approach this 'epidemic' of questioning:
     1.  We can not address the questions at all.
     2.  We can tell them that their questions aren't important.
     3.  We can give them the wrong answers(which happens more than we realize).
     4.  We can give them Biblical answers, which sometimes means I don't know.

There are no stupid questions.  If someone is asking you a question, although you may know the answer, doesn't make it a stupid question from their perspective.  If someone is asking you a spiritual question, one of the worst things you can to is not care or tell them that their question(s) aren't important.  The reality is that people have questions & they will find answers (ask yourself where you want them getting their answers from).
Another bad response is giving them the wrong answer.  This occurs more often when we don't know the answer, so we make one up or we give an answer that we heard someone else say, but we have no Biblical reference.
The best way to address questions is to give answers from Scripture.  God is pretty clear on a lot of issues in Scripture.  There are some things that are spoken directly about, but Scripture leads us in ways to reverently respond to God in those situations.

It's ok to ask 'why'.  Understand that there is a different in asking 'why' because you want to know more or you don't understand & doubting God's sovereignty.  When we doubt God's sovereignty is when we find ourselves doubting our salvation & questioning if God even cares.  Satan uses doubt to get us to take our eyes off of Jesus.  Don't doubt, but dig deep into the Word & discover God more intimately.

By His grace,

Bro. Eric
