Salvation

Ever since the last day of the 2014 NFL Draft, there has been a lot of talk about the first drafted openly gay player. There has been a huge argument about this. My question is why. Why is this such a big deal? Why are we being so judgmental? The truth is that we all have sin.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God."

There is only one sin that is unforgivable, and that sin is not homosexuality. Every single one of us has sinned. Every single one of us has fallen short of the glory of God. We all deserve death.

Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."

Before we just sit and judge the next person who sins, just remember that we have sinned also. Nobody is perfect. We all deserve death. But thank God he loves us enough to send us a way to salvation.

John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world in this way: He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the One and Only Son of God."

John 3:36 "The one who believes in the Son has eternal life, but the one who refuses to believe in the Son will not see life; instead, the wrath of God remains on him."

Notice I am not condoning homosexuality, I am just saying that we are all under the influence of sin. The way we get out of this influence is by following God. We also have to be able to give a response that we have because of our hope in Christ.

1 Peter 3:15 "but honor the Messiah as Lord in your hearts. Always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you."
