Lawlessness Because of Grace?

Sin. It seems to run rampant in our society. Every where you turn, there it is: Sin. In fact, it seems as if our society embraces sin.

But, there's something much worse than sin being spread around society. You see, sin is also being spread around churches.

Worse. It's not only being aloud to spread among the churches here in America, the vast majority of church leaders almost seem to turn a blind eye to this sin.

So I ask you, just because we have been saved by the Sacrifice of Jesus, does that give us a free ticket to sin as we please? I mean, we're already saved, right?

Yes, you're already saved. However, that is not at all an excuse to go off and sin "just because you can."

"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?" Romans 6:1-2

These sins that we go out and commit freely are the same sins that barred us from eternal life. These same sins are those sins that Paul said we were dead in (Ephesians 2.) These sins made us enemies of God (Romans 5:10).

When we lived in sin, we were to dead to God. When we lived in sin, we were preparing for an eternal death in the lake of fire.

To those who have received eternal life through Christ, we are no longer subjects to sin. Does that mean that we won't fall into sin? Absolutely not. What that means is that we are no longer are slaves to it!

"Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts, and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but  present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace." Romans 6:11-14

Christians, I implore you to walk in likeness and image of Jesus Christ. We claim to be regenerated in Christ, then we need to act like it. This faith that we practice is not a joke. Yet, because of our faithlessness it has become the laughing stock of the modern world. It's time we stop playing church. It's time we step up and depend solely on the presence of God inside us to reform the Church here in America. It's time we put away these youthful lusts, and return to the faith that we are all called to have.

It's time we preach the GOSPEL instead of GOSSIP.

It's time we love our NEIGHBOR, not just those who love us.
